I’m looking forward to reading David Hepworth’s book ‘Hope I Get Old Before I Die’ (clever title). He makes the point that Townshend and McCartney were considered to be the elder statesmen of rock at Live Aid. In 1985.
Hi Ian, appreciate the shout-out and that was a quick turnaround on your part. I imagine there will be a UK tour (how could there not be) and plenty of opportunity for those of who said "this must be the last time" to get another opportunity! Cheers.
I hope you find something to appreciate, Bryan. If not I’ll still be writing about other music. As much as I love The Who, I wouldn’t want to only listen to and write about one band 🙂
I saw the Tommy tour in 1989. They were considered old then.

I went to the first farewell tour in 1982! LOL

What was it like live? I know this wasn’t peak Who, but it was The Who. Thanks for taking the time to comment and for sharing your piece, Lori.

I’ve always been a lukewarm Who listener, I’m afraid. But looking forward to exploring them through your work! And maybe my appreciation will heat up!

Really looking forward to your book — that's such a fascinating period in Who history, and I never tire of learning more about it!
Looking forward to the book and the Pete/Who content. 👍
Thanks Andy!
