Just saw him perform in Boston. His voice still packs a punch!

i/o is the only Gabriel tour I’ve missed (other than the ‘New Blood’ orchestral work). I may have caught up on YouTube 😮, and am hoping for a BluRay release at some point.

Thank you for reminding me what a great album this is; one of only 2 of his albums that I ever owned, the other being So, and I played it on repeat. My favourite track was, and might still be, Blood of Eden. Gave me goosebumps...

Gabriel is one of those artists where I’ve collected and listened intently to everything ever. It’s well worth getting into more PG!

Thank you for this entertaining look at an album I've never rated very highly. My interest in Gabriel's music waned in inverse proportion to the size of his audience, not out of any kind of snobbishness, but rather just my gut reaction. That said, I love the third and fourth solo albums, and should run through them all some time to see if I still feel the same way I did when the later albums came out.

Thanks Jeremy. You might find at least some of the new ‘i/o’ tracks enjoyable.

I became detached from Gabriel's solo work after the first four albums so currently spinning this on Spotify.

We saw him last night in Milwaukee. It was an amazing show.

As for "Us." I'm not sure I've ever heard it all the way through? I love "Steam," and a a couple of other tracks, but my interest in him kind of fell off after "So." Last night told me I've been missing out!

'Us' has a unique feel, and it's still growing on me 31 years later. I think it repays listening over a long period, but I recognise I'm starting as a committed Gabriel fan so others' mileage may vary.

So happy you were able to get to the gig. Reports from across Europe, and now the US, are overwhelmingly positive. Yay!

Your comment on the sound of the original release is true; it was awful & did the songs & the album no credit. I only realised how good some of them were when hearing the ' Secret World ' live recordings. I've never seen PG or Real World comment on the sound on the original release, but surely what we got can't have been what was intended it certainly meant I played it a lot less than I would have done due to the bootleg sound

Yes, weird. My first draft had a section asking any producers/engineers who read my stuff how something gets released that’s clearly below par. I was so relieved when I heard the remaster. The original audio quality is certainly one reason why the album was unappreciated for a while.

I did see him on that tour and honestly didn’t know what to expect. I ended up being blown away. The best concert I have ever witnessed and I have been to allot. I always loved the album and my standout track was, “Love to be Loved”. I agree that the recording always sounded muddy. Thank you for reminding me to listen to the remaster and helping me to remember portions of the concert!
