Thanks for your comment Nigel. I wasn’t sure about offering playlists (as someone who writes about the sanctity of the album) so I appreciate your taking the time to post.
I’m writing about ‘Who’s Next’ tomorrow. It’s just about my favourite Who album too.
I do think around 40 mins is right for an LP, but by all accounts the Steven Wilson album is rather good, so we’ll see. He’s mentioned the next record could be an entire album with Ninet - so yes, take my money Steven 😊
As owner of the previous DBA outings, I fear the current release has veered into "progressive pop" regions. I know it's only semantics, but I think I'll take a pass this time. It is still in my Spotify "shall I buy it" playlist so it will get another few spins, just in case.
Any PSB album is going to be an exercise in "take my money". Still have huge respect for any band able to make such a cool song out of a bunch of scientists saying "Go" !
Not a big time Who fan, but of the albums I have "Who's Next" is my favourite. Looking on Spotify I'm not sure I'll ever find the time to listen to ~10 hours of music, but I'll certainly give the Wilson remix and the Lifehouse Chronicles a try out.
And speaking of Mr W. after preaching from the pulpit with some vigour on the merits of the 40 minute album, he dumps 65 minutes of music on us. Still, that didn't stop me buying tickets for the upcoming listening party and with Ninet , well ... I'll pretty much forgive him anything.
Great playlist and idea, I wish I had thought of it haha
